Troop 343
Eagle Scouts

Carl Brodt Memorial Plaque
Our Eagle Plaque has a separate memorial that hangs underneath in remembrance of scout Carl Brodt. Carl was not a member of Troop 343 but his brothers were. Carl completed his Eagle project, clearing and widening roads in Nissequogue State Park in August 1982, and completed all his Eagle rank requirements by September. At the end of September before his Board of Review Carl fell ill suddenly and tragically passed away several weeks later on October 16, 1982. His Eagle Court of Honor was held at his wake and he was buried in full scout uniform. We remember his bravery and honor his memory each time we have an Eagle Court of Honor.
Note: There is an error on the Eagle plaque in the Scoutmaster dates. Scoutmaster Norm Andina handed off to Scoutmaster Eric Reinhold on January 1, 1988 - The plaque dates should be "Norm Andina 1982-1987""Eric Reinhold 1988-1993"
